Commonwealth Games’ restrictions contiune until 6 August

General aviation pilots are being reminded that Commonwealth Games’ airspace restrictions will continue until Wednesday 6 August 2014. Although the ‘Restricted Zone’ covering most of the Glasgow area will be turned off following the closing ceremony this Sunday (3 August), the smaller ‘Prohibited Zone’ around the main Games’ venues will remain operational until 18:00 (UTC), 6 August.

GA aircraft can fly into the established Restricted Zone provided pilots have notified the flight with air traffic control at least two hours before they take-off.
